StrataTrace provides private utility locating services for contractors throughout New Jersey, including general contractors, landscapers, fence installers, excavators, septic companies, driveway crews, pool builders, irrigation specialists, and anyone who engages in land disturbance. Our mission is simple: help you work safer, avoid costly utility strikes, and keep your projects moving without delays or surprises.

811 only marks the public utilities up to the meter or property line. StrataTrace continues where 811 stops. We locate private electric lines running to sheds, garages, barns, well pumps, and outbuildings. We identify customer-installed gas lines, septic laterals, pool lines, irrigation systems, invisible dog fences, underground lighting, and non-metallic lines using advanced GPR scanning. We also detect abandoned or undocumented utilities so your crew can dig with full confidence.

Partnering with StrataTrace significantly reduces the risk of service interruptions, property damage, injuries, insurance claims, and project delays. Utility strikes can be expensive and damaging to a contractor’s reputation. Our services add a layer of protection and reliability that keeps your projects safe and compliant.

We understand the pace of field work, which is why partners receive fast scheduling, priority booking, flexible appointment windows, and clear communication. We arrive on site prepared to perform a complete locate using professional Vivax-Metrotech and GPR equipment. Every locate includes clear on-site markings, depth estimates when possible, and optional digital documentation. We also walk your crew through the findings to ensure everyone understands the layout and can proceed safely.

Our pricing is simple. There is a one-time $150 travel and site assessment fee. After we determine the scope of the locate, the price is $100 for each utility that we identify and mark. GPR can be added when needed, and discounts are available for recurring work, long-term projects, or ongoing contractor partnerships.
